Sculptra begins with a consultation, where our experienced practitioners assess your facial structure, skin quality and areas of volume loss. We will discuss your goals and create a personalised treatment plan, with most patients benefiting from 2 to 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Treatment usually takes 30 to 45 minutes, and a topical anaesthetic is applied first for comfort.

After treatment, some redness or slight swelling can occur for 24 to 48 hours. You will also be shown the 5x5x5 massage technique to support even distribution. Results appear gradually, with early improvements often visible at 4 to 6 weeks and fuller results developing over 3 to 6 months, leaving skin looking firmer, smoother and naturally refreshed.

Post -Treatment Care & Side Effects

After Sculptra, it is normal to have some temporary swelling, redness or bruising. Your practitioner will explain how to care for the area properly.

First 24 hours
Use a cold pack wrapped in cloth to help reduce swelling and bruising. Avoid putting ice directly on the skin.
For 5 days
Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days, as advised by your practitioner.
Until the area has settled
Avoid strong sun, UV exposure and extreme heat or cold until any redness or swelling has improved.
What happens next
The area may look fuller straight after treatment, but this early swelling settles. Sculptra works gradually over the following weeks, and any further treatment is usually assessed after at least 4 weeks.

Like any injectable treatment, Sculptra can cause temporary side effects around the injection site. Common ones include swelling, tenderness, redness, pain, bruising, itching, and small lumps or bumps.

Most early side effects are mild to moderate and usually settle within days to 2 weeks.
Lumps or nodules
Small lumps under the skin can happen. Some may only be felt when pressing on the area, while others can be more noticeable and may appear later.
When to get in touch
Contact your practitioner if symptoms feel worse than expected, last longer than expected, or if you notice visible lumps, increasing redness or skin colour change.
Urgent symptoms
Seek urgent medical help if you develop unusual pain, changes in vision, pale skin, severe headache, dizziness, weakness, difficulty speaking, or facial drooping.
