Why is there such a rise in non-surgical nose jobs?
According to WhatClinic.com, the private clinic comparison website; the interest in non-surgical rhinoplasty (nose jobs), increased by 29% in 2016. At the same time, the interest in invasive, surgical rhinoplasty had dropped by 5%.
This rise could be attributed to many factors, not the least of which being the increase in the cult of celebrity and the explosion in ‘selfies’ that has occurred over the past few years. People want to look their best in photos, especially if they are then going to post them all over social media sites such as, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram; and many of us are self-conscious about our noses.
Whether you feel that your nose is too thin; too hooked; too bulbous, or too bumpy; non-surgical nose jobs can help to even out your most prominent feature, and give your self-confidence a boost at the same time.
It’s a simple procedure – one reason for the rise in non-surgical nose jobs
The rise in non-surgical nose jobs can also be attributed to the fact that it is a relatively simple, almost pain free procedure that can be done ‘in a lunch break’; unlike invasive surgery which requires extensive downtime for recovery.
Surgical procedures are also not without the attendant risks of anaesthetics etc., and should not be undertaken lightly.
As we already mentioned, several nasal ‘problems’ can be corrected with non-invasive use of dermal fillers. These fillers will not make your nose either larger or smaller, but they will even out your features and produce a look that is more in proportion with the rest of your face.
The filler is injected into the areas which appear to be not as filled out as other areas; this results in lifting the tip of a hooked nose; raising the bridge of a nose with a bump; correcting imperfections following injury.
Unfortunately, these types of procedure will not help those who are looking to significantly reduce the size of their nose, only surgery will be effective in these cases.
One of the major benefits of the non-surgical nose job is that it is non-permanent. The procedure only takes minutes, but the results can be visible for approximately 12 months. Hyaluronic Acid is used, which is a compound that occurs naturally in the body, and this is broken down over time. This does mean that you will need to have repeat treatments in order to achieve a particular look, but it also allows you to refine your treatments by adjusting the amount of filler used each time.
