Wrinkles – Why Prevention is Better than Cure

Wrinkles are not just for old people!

Read on to find out why when it comes to wrinkles – prevention is better than cure.

When we are young we think of ourselves as invincible. We live in the now, rarely, if ever, looking forward to a time when we are older and may need to take more care of our skin. When you are twenty five, someone in their sixties, or even in their fifties can seem ancient and you cannot imagine yourself as ever being that ‘old’. Of course, perspective is everything, and most fifty or sixty-something’s will tell you that inside, they don’t feel any different to the way they did at twenty; it’s only the packaging that has changed.anti-wrinkle injections - girl in sunglasses

Bearing this in mind, it is important to take onboard the fact that from your late twenties onward, your skin tone will begin to deteriorate, your facial fat will start to migrate downwards, and wrinkles will start to form. These wrinkles have several causes including:

  • Sun exposure
  • Cold weather
  • Smoking
  • Alcohol
  • Sleep
  • Diet
  • Stress
  • Cosmetics
  • Hormones
  • Toxins
  • Genetics

In the case of wrinkles, it has long been propounded that prevention is better than cure. You can try to avoid skin damage by using sunscreen, not frowning, not drinking too much alcohol, etc. but eventually time and gravity will start to have an effect. To help you to keep younger looking skin for longer you can start anti-wrinkle treatments in your late twenties and early thirties before deep-set wrinkles develop.

How can we stop wrinkles from forming?

Anti wrinkle injections have been used for decades in the treatment of wrinkles. They work by relaxing the muscles that cause the wrinkles in the first place. If you start treatments when the wrinkles are only fine, it can help to stave off the onset of deep wrinkles that are caused by long term contraction of the facial muscles.

What areas are suitable for anti-wrinkle treatment?

  • Forehead lines
  • Lines between eyebrows
  • Crow’s feet
  • Laughter lines
  • Smoker’s lines

How does the anti-wrinkle treatment take place?

  • Before any treatment, you will have a full consultation with one of our skilled and qualified medical professionals. They will discuss your suitability for anti-wrinkle treatment and work out a personal treatment plan and goal for you.
  • The treatment takes about 15 minutes during which a local anaesthetic is applied to the injections sites on your face. Once you are ready, small quantities of the Anti wrinkle serum are injected.

How long do anti-wrinkle treatments last?

Everyone is different and therefore anti-wrinkle treatments will last for different lengths of time for everyone depending on factors such as the depth of wrinkle, the metabolism of the individual patient, etc. As the substances contained in the injections are broken down and absorbed by the body, additional treatments will be necessary to maintain your youthful look. A plan for regular follow-up treatments will be put together for you.

Are Anti wrinkle anti-wrinkle treatments suitable for everyone?

Anti wrinkle is suitable for a most people. However, this treatment should be avoided by anyone with muscle problems; nerve damage; or who is pregnant or breastfeeding.
