DON’T Panic!!! – Baby botox is not an aesthetic treatment for babies!!!
Everybody has heard of anti-wrinkle. It is a beauty treatment used for eliminating the appearance of wrinkles that have been around for nearly twenty years.
This treatment involves anti-wrinkle injections into specific areas of the face in order to smooth out wrinkles and frown lines and to give the appearance of fresher and more youthful-looking skin. There is also evidence that the early use of these injections can help to prevent wrinkles in the future.
The downside of standard anti-wrinkle treatments, however, is that sometimes the results may not be as planned, and the patient can end up with a frozen unnatural look. Just think back to the ‘Trout Pout’.
A new type of treatment known as ‘Baby Botox’ is now becoming popular.
This is essentially the same as the standard anti wrinkle treatments, except that smaller doses of injectable material are used and are very much more targeted.
‘Baby botox’ is aimed at people in their 20’s and 30’s and is not designed to eliminate wrinkles altogether, but more to smooth the skin and soften the appearance. Due to the smaller doses of anti wrinkle used, your face will not look frozen or unnaturally smooth.
The reduced size of the doses makes this treatment especially suitable for younger people, as they generally only have fine to moderate lines. Anyone with deep set wrinkles will gain more benefit, and better results from the standard anti-wrinkle treatment.
One thing that you should keep in mind is that ‘Baby Botox’ will not last as long as regular anti-wrinkle treatments due to the smaller amounts of material used.
These anti-wrinkle injections work by blocking the nerve impulses to the muscles of your face that over time cause wrinkles and permanent lines to form. These muscles will gradually relax, giving your face a smoother look.
Which areas are suitable for treatment?
The treatment should take around fifteen minutes. After a local anaesthetic is applied to the injection sites, small quantities of the serum are injected.
Most people are suited to this treatment unless they have suffered from muscle problems, or nerve damage or are pregnant or breastfeeding. Any side effects are injection-related and include:
In order to avoid swelling or bruising the aftercare instructions should be followed closely:
- Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen or advil for two days after treatment, OR one week prior
- Ice the swollen area
- DO NOT rub or massage the face for 4 hours after treatment to avoid spreading the material to other muscles in your face
- Avoid exercise, other than walking, for 24 hours after treatment
Baby Botox FAQs
Baby Botox refers to the use of smaller doses of Botox to achieve a more natural-looking result. Unlike traditional Botox treatments that might give a “frozen” appearance, Baby Botox aims to soften wrinkles while retaining facial expressions.
The primary difference lies in the dosage and technique. Baby Botox uses micro-doses, ensuring that the facial muscles are not entirely relaxed. This allows for subtle smoothing of lines while preserving natural facial movements.
Baby Botox is ideal for individuals looking for a more understated result or those who are new to Botox treatments. It’s also perfect for those with lighter lines or individuals aiming to start early with their anti-aging measures.
Just like traditional Botox, there are minor side effects to be aware of like bruising or swelling at the injection site. However, due to the smaller doses, the risk of complications like drooping eyelids is reduced.
Most patients notice a difference within 3-5 days post-treatment, with full results visible after two weeks.
