Profhilo, PDO or Silhouette Soft – Which Treatment is for You?

With so much choice in non-invasive anti-aging treatments, like Profhilo, PDO or Silhouette Soft – which treatment is right for you?

As you age, your skin loses its elasticity and the fat in your face begins to decrease and migrate downwards. This process results in the appearance of wrinkles, naso-labial lines and sagging skin.

For years expensive cosmetic surgery was the only answer. However, over the last few years it has become easier for people to combat these signs of ageing with the use of non-surgical methods such as Profhilo, PDO or Silhouette Soft.

In this week’s blog we will look at these methods and see how they differ from each other. This will allow you to make a more informed choice as to which would be the ideal treatment for you.

Profhilo- dermal filler

  • A dermal filler manufactured using hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body
  • ‘curls’ wrinkles, rather than filling them
  • Promotes hydration of the skin, and improves tone and texture
  • Promotes the growth of four types of collagen and elastin in the skin
  • Due to the high spreadability of the filler, only five injection sites are necessary
  • Two session of injections are necessary for a full treatmentProfhilo, PDO or Silhouette Soft – which treatment is right for you
  • Usually aimed at people aged from 40-60 years of age. There is no upper age limit, but the end result may not be as effective
  • Results last for up to six months
  • Areas ideal for treatment:- neck; around the mouth; hands; arms and knees
  • You should avoid this treatment if you are allergic to hyaluronic products; breastfeeding, or pregnant

PDO Threadlift

  • Threads are manufactured from Polydioxanone – a substance used in medical sutures
  • The cogs on the threads promote the growth of new collagen in the skin
  • Great for soft tissue lifting
  • Threads dissolve after six to nine months but the effects can still be visible for up to two years
  • Areas ideal for treatment – all facial areas are suitable. Sagging skin can also be tightened on the neck; cleavage; breast area; chest; arms; legs; stomach and buttocks.
  • Treatment gives immediate results
  • Suitable for anyone wishing to combat the signs of ageing in a non-invasive way
  • You should avoid this treatment if you are under eighteen; breastfeeding or pregnant.

Silhouette Soft ThreadliftProfhilo, PDO or Silhouette Soft – Which Treatment is for You?

  • The threads are manufactured using Poly-L-Lactic Acid which is commonly used in medical devices
  • The cones on the threads encourage the growth of new collagen in the skin
  • PLA threads take longer to break down than PDO threads, so stimulate collagen production for longer.
  • Effects are immediate
  • Effects of treatment can be visible for up to eighteen months
  • Areas suitable for treatment:- jawline; cheeks; marionette lines; naso-labial folds; eyebrows and neck
  • Treatment gives immediate results
  • You are not suitable for this treatment if you are allergic to implants; surgical materials; have any infection or auto immune disease, pregnant; breastfeeding, or unable to follow post treatment recommendations.
